We love walking down the Aldi Finds section year-round, but there’s something especially exciting about visiting our favorite aisle as we head into the holiday season. Maybe it’s because the shelves are quickly filling up with our favorite seasonal snacks and desserts. Or because we’re excited to snag the advent calendars that have become a beloved December tradition.
It’s not just the food and drink products that have us beelining for the Aisle of Shame. If you’re an avid entertainer and host, you know that Aldi is a great place to find everything you need to pull off a party—from prep tools to bakeware—all at a fraction of the cost of other retailers and brands.
Just last week, we spotted a $17 roasting pan that’s perfect for making mac and cheese, lasagna, and other cozy fall casseroles, and now there’s a Williams Sonoma copycat that’s going to make your holiday table extra festive.
Aldi’s Crofton Holiday Platter
If you regularly follow tableware trends, then you know that retailers like Williams Sonoma and Pottery Barn are usually the first to come out with a design, but other stores will quickly follow suit, like Aldi. The budget-friendly grocer has released several Williams-Sonoma-like products under its Crofton brand this year, from a multi-functional cutting board to colorful margarita glasses. If you’re a fan of these copycats, then you’ll be thrilled to hear that a new holiday-themed look-alike has arrived at Aldi stores: a trio of festive serving platters.
Aldi’s tree-shaped holiday platter looks nearly identical to Williams Sonoma’s ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas Figural Tree Platter but costs far less than the original’s $90 price tag. Aldi’s version retails for just $7 and not only comes in the exact 15.25-inch size but also features a Christmas tree design. Aldi’s illustration of a snowy, star-capped fir is a bit more traditional than Williams Sonoma’s vintage-inspired tree, which is decked in candles, jewels, and birds.
The budget grocery store is also selling matching round and rectangular platters that pair perfectly with the tree-shaped one. Both have the same Christmas tree illustration, plus that of a cozy winter cabin. All three pieces are made with stoneware and safe to place in the microwave and dishwasher so you can easily reheat and wash them. They’re so affordable that you can buy enough to serve your entire holiday feast or bundle them together as an adorable gift for your favorite home cooks without breaking the bank.
