Ice cream may be closely associated with summer, but is there ever a wrong time of year for the sweet, creamy treat? We don’t think so. There are plenty of reasons to indulge in a scoop or two during the holidays, whether it’s classic vanilla ice cream on top of warm apple pie at Thanksgiving or the peppermint bark bars you hide in the freezer to enjoy after an afternoon of holiday cookie baking and only taking a few tastes of dough.
And holiday baking is the name of the game when it comes to Jeni’s Ice Creams’ new seasonal collection. Jeni’s has merged ice cream and cookies with three new flavors inspired by classic holiday cookies, and it’s bringing back three fan-favorite flavors that also have the holidays written all over them (and in them).
Jeni’s Ice Cream Introduces New Holiday Flavors
If you don’t have the time to make a tray of cookies or bake any dessert for holiday festivities, we doubt anyone will mind if you simply open up a few pints of these new Jeni’s flavors and throw some spoons on the table. The Splendid Holiday collection features three brand-new flavors for the Ohio-born ice cream shop:
- Lemon Crinkle: A buttery lemon ice cream with a ribbon of sweet cream inspired by lemon crinkle cookies.
- Iced Molasses Gingerbread: A spiced molasses ice cream with gingerbread pieces and a white icing swirl inspired by two holiday classics: gingerbread cookies and molasses cookies.
- Seven-Layer Bar: A coconut and toasted caramel ice cream with pockets of bittersweet chocolate and brown sugar crumble inspired by coconutty, chocolatey seven layer bars.
The collection also features three returning flavors that have plenty of holiday flare, too:
- White Chocolate Peppermint: A pink and white swirled peppermint ice cream with specks of white chocolate inspired by peppermint bark. Reviewers say this is the holiday treat they most look forward to and call it their “absolute favorite Christmas flavor.”
- Pistachio Macaron: A roasted pistachio ice cream with a chewy, nougat-like texture inspired by French macarons. Pistachio lovers take note: one Instagram commenter wrote, “I kid you not, that Pistachio Macaron is the best pistachio-flavored ice cream I’ve ever had.”
- Boozy Eggnog: An egg custard flavored ice cream that’s spiked with nutmeg and Uncle Nearest Whiskey inspired by everyone’s favorite tipsy holiday drink, eggnog. An all-time favorite seasonal flavor for Jeni’s fans, one commenter went so far as to call it “Literally my favorite ice cream flavor ever.”
All of the flavors are available to order online as part of the Grand Holiday Collection, or as individual pints. You can also find them at retailers carrying the Jeni’s seasonal flavors, including Whole Foods Market.
So when it comes time to plan your holiday shopping, don’t forget to add a few pints of Jeni’s holiday flavors to the list. Your guests (and your tastebuds) will thank you.
