For some people, chopping vegetables can be a relaxing task: just throw on some music, line up the ingredients, and slice, chop, or dice—squeezing in a few minutes of mindfulness while you’re at it. For others, the task can be tedious or time-consuming. That’s when a gadget that makes short work of chopping can come in handy.
This week, Aldi has a kitchen appliance that can save you time on chopping vegetables, nuts, herbs, and much more in its Finds aisle. With the holidays upon us, and all the cooking and baking we’re excited to do, we could all make use of this deal.
Aldi’s Ambiano Mini Food Chopper
Starting Oct. 30, Aldi is offering a 1.5 cup capacity Ambiano Mini Food Chopper that can pulse, intermittently chop, or continuously blend for just $9.99. A mini food chopper is similar to a food processor but with fewer bells and whistles. The electric appliance has a removable, durable, easy-to-clean stainless steel blade, measurements on the bowl, a nonslip base, and a safety lock lid with a drizzle spout for adding liquids.
Despite its name as a chopper, the appliance can also make pesto or hummus, turn stale bread into breadcrumbs for a casserole topping, emulsify homemade mayo, pureé soup in small batches, and so much more. And while it can’t grate as many types of cheese as a food processor can—it’s not good for soft cheese—it can grate hard cheese such as Parmesan to use in recipes such as lasagna.
If you’ll be finely chopping pecans to make snowball cookies for a holiday cookie tray or a cheeseball as the centerpiece of your cheese board, then better hop on this Aldi deal before the holiday rush begins. The food chopper is on sale for one week only, and if it sells out before the week is done, it may not be restocked.
