Sonic Has a New Winter Menu We Can’t Wait to Try

We’re always excited when Sonic introduces new items to its menu. Case in point: The Cheesy Bacon Sonic Stack, which came out in spring, or the Witch’s Brew Slush Float, which took over all our fall cravings. This fast food chain is our trusted go-to whenever we want something comforting and on the fly, and honestly, the more offerings it has to choose from, the better.

Now, Sonic is adding some brand-new items to its winter menu and we can’t wait to get our hands on them.

The New Double SONIC Queso Smasher

Sonic’s lineup this winter includes both sweet and savory comfort items for the cozy season. 

The new menu includes a Double SONIC Queso Smasher made with not one, but two smashed and seasoned Angus patties that are seared to perfection. The burger is piled high with American cheese, white queso, diced onion, and crispy tortilla strips to provide an extra bit of crunch. The sliced jalapeños offer a subtle hint of heat while the creamy Southwest sauce rounds out the whole burger. If you’re really hungry or want more meat, you can always turn this double into a triple.

As for the sweeter additions, it seems like Sonic is tapping into the dirty soda trend with its two new soda beverages. Root beer fans can enjoy the new Buttery Brew, which is essentially root beer but with a caramel and and sweet cream twist. For those who are craving more traditional holiday flavors, there’s the Sparkling Sugar Cookie Dr. Pepper, made with caramel, sweet cream, and sugar cookie syrup for an extra bit of sweetness.

“Winter is the season for indulgence, where memorable flavors bring us together with family and friends, creating moments that are as comforting as they are delicious,” Mackenzie Gibson, Vice President of Culinary & Menu Innovation at Sonic said in a press release. “This Winter Menu offers just that–from the warm, melty cheese and kick of spice on our new SONIC Queso Smasher to the innovative, festive drink creations we’ve added to our Flavorista Favorites lineup, our guests can treat themselves to both savory and sweet delights that capture the spirit and warmth of the season.”

No other beverage sums that up better than its final new item, the Red Velvet Cake Batter Shake. Made with a creamy vanilla soft serve that has been blended with red velvet cake batter, this decadent shake is topped with a cream cheese whipped topping and a cherry. It’s the perfect way to end a meal this holiday season.

The new seasonal menu offerings will initially be available exclusively on the SONIC App, starting on Oct. 28, followed by a national rollout on Nov. 4.
