HelloFresh Is Re-Creating a Famous ‘Friends’ Episode With Its Rachel Green Trifle Kit — Just in Time for Friendgiving

Estimated read time 3 min read

If you’ve ever dreamed of recreating one of the most infamous Thanksgiving dishes in TV history, you’re in luck. HelloFresh has teamed up with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products to bring fans of Friends a special, limited-edition treat: Rachel Green’s Trifle meal kit. And yes, it’s exactly what you think it is — a mashup of Shepherd’s pie and classic English trifle, just like in that memorable season six episode.

The kit, which drops just in time for Thanksgiving this year, comes packed with everything you need to re-live that culinary catastrophe. But there’s a twist — this time, HelloFresh has designed a custom trifle dish with a divider. So, you can keep the savory shepherd’s pie layers separate from the sweet custard and jam, or go full Joey and mix it all together in a terrifyingly delicious bite.

“At HelloFresh, we know our customers like to have fun in the kitchen and are big fans of the beloved sitcom Friends,” said Kirsten Walpert, vice president of brand and creative at HelloFresh US. “That’s why we’re excited to bring this memorable dish to life, which will help Friends fans enjoy a unique and delicious cooking experience while celebrating with loved ones this holiday season.”

HelloFresh’s Rachel Green Trifle Kit will be available starting Monday, November 4th — no subscription required.

Priced at $34.99 with free shipping, the meal kit serves six people and includes step-by-step recipe cards for both a Shepherd’s Pie and a Classic English Trifle, as well as a Friends-themed apron and the special trifle dish. You know, just in case you want to impress your guests by attempting the real-life version of Rachel’s chaotic Thanksgiving concoction.

For those who remember Ross’ meltdown over “It tastes like feet!” or Joey’s sheer joy in devouring the trifle, this kit lets you take part in the hilarity firsthand — though HelloFresh’s version promises to be much tastier. Senior culinary development manager Michelle Doll Olson explained the challenge of making Rachel’s trifle: “Our goal was to capture the humor and fun of the episode while ensuring the recipe is still tasty. Whether you choose to enjoy each recipe on its own or bravely mix them together, this sweet and savory dish is sure to be a hit at your Friendsgiving this year!”

The Rachel Green Trifle Kit goes on sale Monday, November 4th at 9:00 AM ET, with a limited number of kits available each day through Thursday, November 7th. Orders are first come, first served, and delivery is scheduled for the week of November 11th — no HelloFresh subscription required. Heads up: the trifle dish ships separately, so be prepared to plan ahead if you want to unveil your masterpiece at the big gathering.
