Everyone’s favorite gang of offbeat vampire roomies will return to their gothic vibes and hijinks when the sixth season of What We Do in the Shadows drops its first three episodes today. It is the beginning of the end, as this is also the show’s final season.
The FX series takes inspiration from the 2014 cult movie hit created by and starring Taika Waititi and Jemaine Clement. The show stars Kayvan Novak as Nandor, Matt Berry as Laszlo Cravensworth, Natasia Demetriou as Nadja, Harvey Guillen as Guillermo de la Cruz and Mark Proksch as energy vampire Colin.
What We Do in the Shadows follows this undead Staten Island crew as they pursue — and fail — their mission to conquer the world. Instead, they get caught up in the minutiae of everyday life as they find where they fit in both the worlds of the living and the dead. Could they finally succeed in taking over planet Earth in this new run of episodes? Weirder things have happened.

Release date and how to stream What We Do in the Shadows season 6
What We Do in the Shadows season 6 gets a three-episode premiere on FX on Monday, Oct. 21 at 10 p.m. ET, with the seven remaining episodes set to drop weekly. Episodes will land on Hulu the following day. If you want to watch the series’ live broadcast without cable, a live TV streaming service such as YouTube TV or Sling TV provide access to FX’s linear network.
Sling TV’s Blue plan carries FX in its channel lineup, and the services offers more than 40 channels and includes 50 hours of DVR. Plans start at $40 a month — depending on your region — and new customers can get a discount on the first month.
Are you prepared for the final season of What We Do in the Shadows? Stream episodes each Tuesday following their Monday night debut on FX. Setting yourself up with a subscription to Hulu or Hulu on Disney Plus would be a solid first step. Take note: Disney raised prices for its streaming services, so Hulu’s monthly and yearly costs have gone up.
There are ways to save some scratch when adding Hulu to your streaming mix. Aside from the option to sign up for a free trial, college students can take advantage of available discounts explicitly aimed at them. Verizon customers can save some dollars using a specific plan. Not to mention, an array of Disney bundles — including the Hulu, Disney Plus and Max megabundle — can lead to worthwhile savings.
