Estimated read time 2 min read

Amazon has a gadget for everything, and that’s especially true when it comes to wine. Whether you’re a seasoned collector or a newly minted oenophile, the wide world of wine gadgets can be difficult to navigate. Choosing the products worth buying is far easier with the help of pros, so we turned to Chief Winemaker Émilien Boutillat of industry-loved Champagne house Piper-Heidsieck for his top recommendations.

From the wine glasses he calls “the ideal companion for Piper-Heidsieck Champagnes” to an $8 tool that lets you save a half-drunk bottle of bubbly for a later date,, these are the wine glasses and gadgets Boutillat can’t live without, starting at just $8.

Best Winemaker-Recommended Gear

Laguiole En Aubrac Sommelier Waiter’s Corkscrew

Amazon

While you won’t need one to crack open bottles of bubbly, Boutillat says that a quality corkscrew is “a must-have as a Champagne oenologist and wine lover.” The winemaker uses his to “taste new white and red still wines from around the world.” This Laguiole En Aubrac waiter’s corkscrew is his favorite wine key, and our editors happen to agree: When we tested over a dozen corkscrews, this one came out on top as our favorite splurge.

Bettfor Champagne Stoppers, Set of 2

Amazon

Boutillat believes every kitchen needs a quality Champagne stopper to ensure no precious bubbly goes to waste, “even if normally I don’t use it because I don’t need to close empty bottles.” This Amazon set is just $8 — that’s only $4 apiece. And since it comes with two stoppers, you can keep one for yourself and give the other as a housewarming gift or stocking stuffer. They come in silver, black, gold, and rose gold.

Lehmann N°4 Champagne Glasses, Set of 6

Amazon

The best Champagne glasses are just as elegant as the wine you’ll pour into them, and according to Boutillat, “this wine glass from Reims city glass brand Lehmann is perfectly suited.” In lieu of a traditional flute or coupe glass, Boutillat prefers these flared white wine glasses, noting that their shape “allows you to appreciate the full expression of the Champagne by releasing all [of] its aromas.”
