With Metaphor: ReFantazio releasing next week, big Atlus fans probably already know how they are spending their gaming time in October. A new IP from the studio behind some of the best role-playing games in recent years is certainly exciting. Atlus has already had a pretty big year thanks to Persona 3 Reload and Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance. If you haven’t checked out Persona 3’s remake and the significantly expanded and overhauled version of SMT V, you can save big on both for PC at Fanatical.
The Shin Megami Tensei deals are especially notable, as both editions are down to their best prices yet. The Digital Deluxe Edition offer is a 48-hour Fanatical Star Deal, which means keys are limited. The deal ends Friday, October 4 at 8 AM PT / 11 AM ET.
Meanwhile, Persona 3 Reload’s Digital Premium Edition is available for nearly 50% off. You can also save on Metaphor: ReFantazio PC preorders, including the 35th Anniversary Edition, which comes two digital art books, two digital soundtracks, and bonus DLC. Heads up: Amazon restocked Metaphor: ReFantazio’s Collector’s Edition for PS5 and Xbox on October 2.
Shin Megami Tensei and Persona Game Deals (PC)
Metaphor: ReFantazio preorder deal for PC
Originally a Nintendo Switch exclusive, the Vengeance version of the game brought the stellar turn-based RPG to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S as well as PC. Set in a version of Tokyo that has been decimated by countless demons, this stylish adventure lets you explore the metropolitan wasteland and explore a dramatic tale of revenge. While you’ve got the power to stand against the Qadistu and their dark designs, you can improve your odds by recruiting demons to your side. It’s kind of like Pokemon, but with more apocalyptic overtones. This version of the game is also the definitive one, as it introduces numerous tweaks, changes, and quality-of-life updates to make it look, play, and feel better.
The Digital Deluxe Edition is normally 10 bucks more than the standard, but Fanatical’s deal drops the difference to $5. It includes quite a bit of extra content that can help you out when you’re starting the game and extra quests:
SMT V: Vengeance – Digital Deluxe Edition
- Mitama Dance of Wealth
- Mitama Dance of EXP
- Mitama Dance of Miracles
- Demon Subquest – Sakura Cinders of the East
- Demon Subquest – Holy Will and Profane Dissent
This is the lowest price yet for Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance on PC, but if you’re looking to grab it on other platforms, you’re in luck. The Switch steelbook edition is down to $46 at Amazon, but if you don’t want it in a fancy protective cover that features some striking art, you can get the regular version for $41 instead. The standard physical version on Xbox Series X and Xbox One is just $40, $42 on PS5, and the PS5 steelbook edition is $46.60 through a third-party seller at Walmart.
“Everything that made Shin Megami Tensei V such a memorable and engaging experience remains in Vengeance, just tweaked and massaged into an even better game. It’s easier to connect to the narrative–having the other human characters in your party and engaging in small talk with them go a long way to making the events happening around them feel more impactful–and the various adjustments to navigation, combat, and demon-herding let you focus more on savoring the dark atmosphere and the strategies of battle,” Heidi Kemps wrote in GameSpot’s Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance review.
